Introduction:-
Researchers from the School of Life Sciences at China’s Tianjin University have claimed to product the oral vaccine for coronavirus Scientists have developed an oral vaccine for the new coronavirus using baker’s yeast, Chinese state media reported.
What is Yeast??
Yeast, the most common one being S. cerevisiae, is used in baking as a leavening agent, where it converts the food/fermentable sugars present in dough into the gas carbon dioxide. This causes the dough to expand or rise as gas forms pockets or bubbles.
Yeast cells are humble cells those have a lot of properties like human cells which allowed us to really think about the use of Yeast in understanding medicine and understanding more about the human body
As the Usual method suggest that we should take the weakest spot of corona and inject to human cells so that I won't able to cause disease. But incase of corona finding the weak spot is very difficult , so scientists use the yeast cell in place of human cell , so after yeast forms protein with corona we should remove the harzardous part and intake the remaining protein to cure the virus..
How to form vaccines with help of yeast!!?
Ideally what you want to do is you want to develop a vaccine against this particular part of the other chronic virus. You can take that bit of the corona virus express that in Yeast and you can take that purify of that Protein to develop vaccines.
How baker's Yeast used to discover antibiotics:-
The immunisation uses food-grade saccharomyces cerevisiae, or baker’s yeast, as the carrier and aims at the Spike protein of the virus, Prof. Huang said. It helps people generate antibodies against the deadly virus. The Spike protein, or S protein, is responsible for inducing the virus into the host cells inside a patient and is the key to tackling the infection, the expert explained.
Drug test:-
1. A professor in charge of the project has reportedly taken four doses of the drug without having any side effects.
2. However, the expert said the product was still ‘far from’ being sold on the market because it needed to pass animal tests and clinical trials.
The news was announced by Professor Huang Jinhai from the School of Life Sciences at Tianjin University and reported by state newspaper People’s Daily.
When it will release:-
Prof. Huang said he was looking for partners to help his team complete the project. Expects believe these vaccines may be get commercialized in market within next 6 months.
